How it's calculated
The area of a rectangle is its length times its width. The calculator adds the areas together, then converts: one square foot is 0.0929 square meters, and nine square feet make a square yard.
If you measured in feet and inches, turn the inches into a decimal first: 10 feet 6 inches is 10.5 feet.
Area = Length × Width
How to do it in Excel
List each area with its length in column B and width in column C:
=SUMPRODUCT(B2:B4, C2:C4)- Total area of all the rows in one formula.
=CONVERT(D2, "ft2", "m2")- Square feet in D2 converted to square meters.
=D2*(1+10%)*E2- Cost with 10% extra for waste, at the price per square foot in E2.
